In case you have missed this shit storm at late night NBC, here is a quick rundown:
In 2004 Leno makes an announcement that basically outlines his retirement after five more years. This is described as a decision that was made between Leno and NBC together. Leno acts completely fine with this agreement; pleased with his replacement and ready to leave.
Now flashforward to present and it’s a whole different story. Conan moves his family and entire staff to LA only to find out Mr. Leno is not actually ready to leave.
This comes surprising for the viewers but NBC was aware of this. Leno had apparently tried to work out offers with other networks (supposedly a competing show at Conan’s new 11:30 spot on NBC), however, NBC refused to let Leno out of contract early. Holding him as an asset they refuse to loose. So now there’s two guys with big heads fighting over the 11:30 spot on NBC. Everyone knows Conan is the better candidate. What will happy though remains unknown. Gawker is doing a pretty good job recapping each night’s monologue and comments on the matter here. And if you still don’t get it try watching this CGI explanation.
This is pretty exciting and really makes me want to jumpstart my DJing/Producing endeavors. I haven’t seen any video’s but from Jazzy Jeff’s reaction, “It’s almost like you’re DJing with multitracks,” I would guess that this is going to really change live performances.
Anybody have video of this bad boy in action?
Not that I particularly enjoy this song, it’s just catchy as hell. And now I won’t be able to hear it without the whistle.
In other news, Universal is making an entire theme park based on Harry Potter.
I’ll be sure to retweet some of your twitts. Have fun playing with your tumblr and KIT. Always nice to meet some normal people on the internet (not to mention you’re hot) ;)
